For seeking better operation performance and enhance shareholders' equity,

Epistar and Nan Ya Photonics Inc. entered into collaboration agreement to

achieve strategy alliance and share the resources.

Epistar will invest Nan Ya Photonics Inc. through right issue. Investment

amount is NT$1 billion approximately, and further investment will proceed

in accordance with the agreement and the company's schedule.

Epistar's partner, Nan Ya Photonics is briefed as follows:

Specializing in high brightness LED epiwafers and chips; Nan Ya Photonics

was founded by Formosa Plastics Group. As a member, Nan Ya Photonics has

access to Fromosa Plastics Group's integrated resources, and Nan Ya

Photonics' R&D team will collaborate with Epistar's, to play a

significant role in the LED supply chain.
